Our labs
About Us: We’re based at the Leibniz Institute for New Materials. As a member of the Leibniz Association, we receive funding from the Saarland state and the federal government. The INM has a background in interface science and technology, with expertise in areas like biomaterials design, biomimetics, soft matter, batteries, and tribology.
Affiliations: Our lab is part of the Pharmaceutical Research Alliance Saarland. This connects us to the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research, which is associated with the Helmholtz Center for Infectious Research and the Center for Biophysics at Saarland University. We are affiliated with the Max Planck Bristol Center for Minimal Biology, part of the Max Planck Society and located in Bristol, UK.
Facilities: We apply a diverse toolbox of synthesis and analysis technqiues between material and life sciences like light microscopy (light sheet, confocal, TIRF, two-photon, STED, stereo), electron microscopy (cryo TEM, SEM, ESEM), flow cytometry, nanoindentation, rheology, and standard molecular biology equipment (qPCR, WB, ELISA). We also work with BSL1 and 2 cell cultures, dynamic light scattering, nanoparticle tracking, RNA sequencing, proteomics, lipidomics, inorganic chemistry, nanoparticle synthesis, microfluidics, and mass spectrometry.
